Dish 19 – Spalted Beech

A beautiful handcrafted wooden dish (small-medium sized) made from spalted beech, which is natural beech wood that has aged for several years. When the aging environment is just right the process generates beautiful patterns throughout the wood.  The wood was turned on a lathe to create the unique, beautiful dish/shallow bowl and then finished with shellac and hand-polished with four coats of black bison clear polish to bring about the beautiful shiny look and smooth feel. The size is approximately 18cm diameter – about 5cm in height – and about 356g in weight…
