Lamp 1 – Yew Wood

Description

A beautiful hand crafted wooden lamp made from perhaps among one of the hardest of all softwood species, Yew is certainly a unique wood species.  The lamp has been created from a branch sourced from Ystradfellte Cemetary in Brecon and is from a tree said to be about 1,000 years old that fell down during a storm.  The wood was turned on a lathe to create the unique beautiful lamp and then finished with shellac and hand polished with four coats of black bison clear polish to bring about the beautiful shiny look and smooth feel.  The pictures are of the actual item for sale… the lamp is fitted with British Standard light fittings and comes with a small length of cable and plug…  the size is approximately 58 cm circumference at its widest part (Base) – and about 36 cm in height (to the tip of light fitting)…
