Bowl 46 – Brazilian Walnut

£39.00

A beautiful handcrafted medium sized and heavy wooden bowl made from Ocotea Porosa, which is a species of plant commonly called imbuia or Brazilian Walnut because its wood resembles that of some walnuts (to which it is not related). The tree is a major commercial timber species in Brazil, used for high-end furniture. The wood is very hard and is also fragrant with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. The wood was turned on a lathe to create the unique, beautiful bowl and then finished with shellac and hand-polished with four coats of black bison clear polish to bring about the beautiful shiny look and smooth feel. The bowl has natural patterns. The pictures are of the actual item for sale… approximately 21.5cm in diameter and 7cm in height and 734g in weight (a thinned out quality product).
