Silver fir is native to the mountains of Europe; it is commonly grown on Christmas tree plantations in the North East region of North America spanning New England in the US to the Maritime provinces of Canada. The wood was turned on a lathe to create the unique, beautiful bowl  and then finished with shellac and hand-polished with four coats of black bison clear polish to bring about the beautiful shiny look and smooth feel.
